Formula for success

Salutations. I hope my blog s as thought provoking as ever. Life as I know it is similar. Similar to yesterday. Except that my day ended much earlier. But nevertheless, various commitments bogged me down a little. Or rather bLogged. OK maybe not. I am still bummed about guitar not having concert. And that people are dropping from jazz like flies. Linky and now maybe Ian. Theyre all in my band. what luck. at least we could cope without Linky because our band was pretty overkill with 2 guitarists. So now Bagus and I can alternate between guitar and bass. But no Ian? like drummer dude. We need him. No Ian, band cant really work. makes me feel like dropping jazz. It seems i got a lot of commitments. Then maybe I'll join rock and get loads of gigs, be famous, and take over the world.
Anyway, to a more interesting matter. There has been much talk about Singapore and formula one. Bringing formula one to Singapore. Costs a lot. Gets loads of cash. Malaysia has it. So logic goes we can have it. Whee! Why didt the government turn down the offer years ago? Formula one is dangerous and encourages dangerous driving. OK. First of all, formula one cars are probably the 4th safest cars, behind a non-working car, a carrot and a carbohydrate. Formula one cars are purpose-built for speed, but they have to make it safe, because its in the team's best interest. Formula one drivers are paid an arm and a leg for ever leg of the season, but if they lose an arm and a leg, the team loses more arms and legs. And they have to get another guy to pay an arm and a leg. Not good business.
And secondly, i think only kids would be influenced to drive "dangerously' by formula one. And, in Singapore, its hard to get up to even the average lap speed of a formula one car. One, car isnt fast enough. Two, Singapore is small, You probably encounter a bend as you reach 40 kmh.
Anyway the government realise its a mistake. Good for them. So now we talk about a race in Singapore. And in a time with a lot of firsts, like Raikkonnen's first win at the first grand prix of the year, ahead of the first guy from the previous season with the first numbered car and behind him the first black formula one driver on his first formula one race and his first ever podium finish. If i count correctly, thats 7 firsts in the past weekend in formula one. So now Singapore doesnt want to be left out of the first spree. So the race here might be the first night race. Whoa. And it makes things real convenent for europeans. and americans, but i think that would be one or two of them. So for us asians, we have to stay up late, go to school and work groggy. great. but its cool because WE GOT THE NIGHT RACE LOSERS! but fernando aloso says it could be a problem. Night race makes racing hard to see. well, formula one is so advanced, that cars turn at speeds they shouldnt and they can drive upside down. That probably means formula one races can be as advanced and they will find a way to get around that problem. or maybe like make the sun stay out much longer, past peoples bedtimes.
But now, formula one in Singapore. Malaysia wont be too pleased. They will no longer be able to say to us that they have formula one but we dont. and wed just get more money than we probably deserve. and Indonesia might complain. they definitely eed the cash more than us. and Thailand is probably upset already over the formula one issue, and they are threatening haze for us. Were sick of haze, and with the haze, visibility will be so low that cars racing will crash. I believe this s a great strategy on the part of the thai government. since it is cunning and clever, i harbour no ill feelings towards them. just a little bummed that formula one would not be coming to Singapore. I'm a fan. maybe, if we gather enough formula one fans, we can blow the haze away! and since its formula one, we will be high tech fans and will be more effective.
Now, if Thailand can do that to us from so far away (OK maybe not that far), then what can Indonesia do? like they unintentionally cause haze for us and its really bad haze. Imagine what they can do when they intentionally give it to us? And Malaysia can just cut water and let us drink our own waste instead of theirs. And the US... well they have their own grand prix. and nascar. but they might just quote their intelligence and give us a pre-emptive strike anyway. So, i suggest we make our friendly neighbours happy. I do ot believe they would resort to this because they are nice people, no doubt about that. But as a worst case scenario, we are screwed. So why leave that to chance. If we are lucky, the various governments will not be pmsy and screw us.
What I suggest would be to make the race such that all countries would benefit from it. So, we can have a track which spans across southeast asia. starts off here in Singapore, then a few turns here and there, straight to Malaysia and then Thailand, back the way it came, trough singapore with a few more turns, down through Indonesia, off to Hawaii across the pacific ocean, back to Singapore with a few more turns and then circuit. With this, all countries will be happy. And is this too long? well formula one cars are real fast. shouldnt be a problem with straights. and the race will cross different timezones, so it could be night here but day in the US! brilliant! not lighting problem. So we wont be clusterbombed while were choking when we breathe in. or at least we will see the carpet bombs coming.
So I guess thats all I have to say for now. Hope this wasnt too wordy...
